Muesai is a text typeface. This typeface was made to study the sans serif structure and calligraphic contrast. Muesai is situated between static and dynamic style, in other words, between grotesque and humanist sans. Muesai’s structure is influenced by five classic models: Frutiger, FF Meta, Stone Sans, and Syntax. The calligraphic terminal is aimed to be the guideline of the nib direction. Since the type designer is left-handed, therefore, in the beginning, she cannot overcome the calligraphy skill, which leads to the confusion of the letter’s contrast study. Consequently, as an alternative to calligraphy, she began by pencil sketches simulating the direction of the nib instead.
